Green Industry Interviews – What The Heck Is It?

My purpose for writing you today is actually 2 fold.

First, I wanted to post a quick reminder about today’s episode of Green Industry Interviews which will air at 4pm ET. On today’s show I’ll be sharing with you why everything you THINK you know about marketing is wrong and what steps you can take to begin marketing your business more effectively.

Then I’ll interview David Crary, a green industry business owner for 20+ years who got absolutely fed up with having to start the day at 4am just so he could keep up with all of the paperwork.  As a result of his frustration, he created a software product called The Hindsite Solution, which helps any type of service professional keep everything organized and eliminate the glut of paperwork.

Finally, I’ll share a few ideas with you about the difference between success and failure.

As always, the episode airs at 4pm ET at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/greenindustryinterviews and in case you’re unable to listen in live, the replay will be available shortly after the program ends.

My second purpose for writing you today is to explain a little better what Green Industry Interviews. I was chatting with a good friend of mine just the other day and he said he was a little disappointed because he didn’t think I introduced the show to my list very well.

Now, with the exception of politics, I really respect his opinion so I decided I’d take a few short paragraphs to explain in more detail what the show is, why I’m doing it, and what I hope to accomplish as a result.

First, the show is called Green Industry Interviews because that’s exactly what I want the bulk of the show to be.  I want it to be an opportunity for you to learn from experts both inside and outside of the green industry that have information, knowledge, insight, or experience that could help you grow your business.

It could be a particular software solution, as is the case this week, or an expert on pricing jobs, or how to find valuable employees, or how to train your employees better, or what kind of insurance you need for both your business and personally, or how to take advantage of the Internet better, or how to negotiate with vendors on payment terms, or…well, I hope you get the idea.

Ultimately, my objective is to provide someone each that has information that could be valuable and helpful to your business.

Now, the reason I decided to do the show is two-fold.  The primary reason I’m doing it is because I’m trying to expand my own reach and position within the green industry.

There, I said it.  I’m doing it to make some money.  I just hope you don’t hold it against me.

You see, one of the BEST ways you can grow any business is to first provide value to your target market.  When your prospects and customers see that you’re giving away value, even if they haven’t signed a contract or paid you anything yet, they’ll be much more likely to listen to what you have to say and ultimately try your products or services.

It’s my hope that by creating a show that helps green industry professionals grow their business, more people will want to check out my information, products, services, and coaching programs.

The second reason I’m doing the show is because I genuinely want to help you grow your business.  I’ve long said that the green industry has some of the most honest, hard working people you’ll ever meet and because of that I want to help as many people as possible be successful.  This venue gives me an opportunity to do just that.

And finally, what do I hope to accomplish with this program?

Well, as I’ve already stated, I hope to help people grow their businesses faster, with less stumbles and with greater results.   At the end of the day, even if I don’t make a single red cent as a result of the show but I hear back from a couple dozen green industry business owners that they were able to significantly grow their business as a result of the show, then it’s all been worth it.

Sure, I’d love to generate some revenue as a result of the show, but I don’t do everything for a profit.  There is definitely some truth to the idea of personal profits as well, as just knowing that people were able to create a better life for themselves and their family would be a handsome personal profit for me.

So, I hope this explains a little better the show.  And I hope you make it a point to either tune in every week or at the very least listen to the replays which you can find on the show’s website at www.GreenIndustryInterviews.com.

As always, thanks for giving me an opportunity to share this knowledge with you and I look forward to hearing your feedback and comments about the show!
