What’s Your Plan of Attack?

Well, we’re now well into the year 2007 and believe it or not, the growing season is just around the corner.  Before you know it, it will be time to tune up the equipment in preparation for the first cuts of the year.  Of course, if you provide services all year long you’re already in a groove that will hopefully carry right into Spring and Summer.

Regardless of which situation you find yourself, now is definitely the time to start getting your marketing ready for the year.  Here are a few things to consider as you start working on this all important aspect of your business:

  • Do you have a core message that sets you apart from your competition or are you content to say the same things everyone else is saying and hope there are enough scraps left over?
  • As your putting together your marketing, are you presenting your prospects and customers with valuable offers or are you hoping they’ll just need your services so badly they’ll just pick up the phone and call?  In other words, are you giving them a reason to call?
  • Do you have your entire sales process mapped out so you know what to say, when to say, and how to say it?  What are your plans for continually marketing to those prospects that show some interest but don’t fully convert to a customer?
  • Are you planning to do anything with your existing customers to cement the relationship and ensure they remain your customer for many seasons to come?

Even though there are a lot more questions you could ask as you prepare for the 2007 season, these are some basic questions that should help you examine your current processes.

Remember, your primary business is marketing.  Without marketing, it doesn’t matter how good you are at everything else because you won’t have any customers to provide service to.  So take the time right now to put your ducks in a row and I promise 2007 will be a banner year for you!
